About Jiji Earthquake ...

1:47 (local time)  on 21 September 1999, while everyone was in the sweet dream, Chelongpu fault moved with forty seconds, magnitude (ML) 7.3  .    The epicenter of this quake was just situated at Jiji. So it named "Jiji Earthquake".  It's largest earthquake during 20th Century in Taiwan, causing severe damage to infrastructure in several cities, and more than 2,400 are killed and 8,000 injured in this disaster. In Jiji township, over 30% buildings collapsed. Jiji Primary school was also damaged. Many powerful aftershocks continue shacking Taiwan for two years. Everyone pray for the hapless victims in the diaster.
